groaning in sleep; pale skin; this is a spontaneous report received from a contactable reporter(s) (consumer or other non hcp) from the ra. other case identifier(s): gb-mhra-vac-202202111830159460-vdczo, gb-mhra-adr 26595192, gb-mhra-vac-202202111830159460-vdczo. a 74 year-old male patient received bnt162b2 (comirnaty), administration date 03nov2021 10:00 (lot number: fk0596) as dose number unknown (booster), single for covid-19 immunisation. relevant medical history included: "sleep apnea" (unspecified if ongoing); "asthma" (unspecified if ongoing). concomitant medication(s) included: clenil modulite taken for asthma; ventolin [salbutamol sulfate] taken for asthma. vaccination history included: covid 19 vaccine (manufacturer unknown; primary immunization complete-unknown number of doses.), for covid-19 immunisation. the following information was reported: moaning (medically significant) with onset 04nov2021 03:00, outcome "unknown", described as "groaning in sleep"; pallor (medically significant) with onset 04nov2021, outcome "unknown", described as "pale skin". the events "groaning in sleep" and "pale skin" were evaluated at the physician office visit. no known other conditions, sleep apneoa ruled out ecg good. pfizer booster given 10 am 03nov2021 and went to bed that night and incident happened early morning whilst asleep about 3am - groaning, wife thought it was a nightmare, but could not bring him out of groaning so ran downstairs for the telephone and ran back upstairs, groaning had stopped and was very pale, awoken and came around, incident lasted a few minutes to awakening. telephoned 111 for advice and a paramedic arrived. thoroughly checked by paramedic and all found to be ok by time he left. not sent into hospital. nothing like this has ever happened before or after this incident. groaning in sleep, could not wake, then stopped very pale and then awoken. the reporter did not think this reaction occurred as a result of a mistake made in the administration of the vaccine. the patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: electrocardiogram: unknown (ecg good). no follow-up attempts are possible. no further information is expected
